So today is Friday and that means that I just finished the first week of Northwestern Wildcat Sports Camp. This has been my job every summer since I graduated high school. The camp is right on the beach and I get to spend the entire day in the son with the kids. Sometimes is can really challenge me because the kids are difficult to work with, but I always have fun every summer. The staff this summer has been so great, everyone is always willing to work hard and I get along with a lot of them.
I am exhausted, but in a good way. I was able to play in the water with kids all day today because it was beach day. Tomorrow I am going to Toledo with two of my college friends, to meet two of our other friends. I am excited to hang out with them and just relax a little bit.
This summer has really been a time of transition, although it has not completely hit me yet. One of my roommates from college was here last night, and that was probably the last time that I would see her until Christmas Break. It is strange to think that we will no longer be together. I can no longer count on seeing my roommates at the end of August. I can’t go to the beach with them, stay up late decorating, stay up late talking and wander around down town Holland. Wow this is making me miss them so much already.
I am excited for Africa because in a way it will be like going to College again. I will be meeting a ground of people that I am going to spend the year with and form strong bonds with. We are going to be having unforgettable experiences and God is really going to draw us together. I can’t wait.
One more thing, I got a new puppy this week. His name is Jake and I love him!
