“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
-1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Today at work my friend Rob and I were talking about this exact thing. We are here to work for God in everything that we do. Going to Africa is making me really motivated to work hard but I also know that I need to work hard all the time in everything that I do. I also like this verse a lot because I am a competitor. I really like to win in all that I do. At camp we have the Olympics in the last week of the session and I am so intense about it. I even lost my voice in the last Olympics! But I need to remember that I am running the race for God and not just for myself.
Raising support has been going pretty well but I still do have a ways to go. I had a garage sale two weeks ago and I made $520! That was really a blessing but I still have about half of the money to raise. If anyone thinks they can help then please click on “Support Me”! It would really be a blessing.
