This past week has seemed both very long and very short! I can't believe that only a week ago I met the team of people that I am going to be spending the next nine months with. I have created some bonds already that I know will last forever. I feel blessed to be here, and I am so excited for what the days to come have in store.
Right now I am sitting in the Frankfurt airport waiting for my next flight. We flew from Georgia straight to Frankfurt and now we are waiting for our connecting flight to Johannesburg, we have a fourteen-hour wait! I got to take a shower today, which was a real blessing. For training camp I was living in a tent and showering with a cold hose. It was an experience that made me step out of my comfort zone and I loved it.
For the next three weeks I will be in Johannesburg and Swaziland, where we will be trained in language and culture. In Swaziland we will have an opportunity to build relationships with some of the people. I can't wait to get to Africa, there has been so much building up to this and I am finally here. I feel blessed by this opportunity that God has given me. I loved out my window of the plane last night and I could see the sunset. I felt at peace about what God is doing in my life. He knows what he is doing, just like he knew what he was doing when he made that sunset and had me look at it.
