I am so excited to start this blog because it means that I am going to Africa! If you had told me four years ago when I started college that I would be going to Africa I would not have believed you. I would have said that I was going back to Evanston to teach 3rd grade. God obviously had other plans for me and I am so excited!
Here is a devotion that I did yesterday, and it has just made me think about what is going on in my life. I have such a mix of emotions after graduating college just one week ago. But through everything Christ is there with us even if we forget
Christ sets us free by the power of his Spirit. He maintains out freedom as we may learn to live from day to day in his power.
God, I claim your Word that says I did not receive a spirit that makes me a slave again to fear, but I received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him I cry. "Abba Father" (Romans 8:15). Help me to cry out unashamedly to You, my Father, when I am gripped by fear. This kind of fear is not of You! (2:Timothy 1:7)
Victorious God, I thank You that the weapons with which I fight are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. I demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and I choose to take every thought to make it obedient to Christ! (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
